[Accidental Video] From One Life to Another

[When Zelgius lands, he lands in a most ungainly fashion right on top of his journal, triggering a video feed. He is dressed in the standard New Feather attire of white cotton pants, exposing his back to the camera. For a moment before he moves away, a a strange marking is partially visible on his back, under one dark blue Lucetian wing. It takes him a moment to fully come to, but when he does, he immediately scrambles for the shirt by his side and pulls it on. He had no idea if he was still in Tellius after what had happened (he had just lost consciousness after a duel to the death, after all), but if he was, he wasn't going to risk letting anyone see his brand (never mind that observant viewers might have already seen it, unbeknownst to him).

His red and gold armor is beside him, which is a bit strange considering that he was in a completely different suit of armor when he blacked out, but it's reassuring to him nonetheless. He can put it on in a moment (he had quite a good amount of experience with putting it on by himself); right now he needs to check his surroundings. He turns around, and his gaze finally lands on the journal.]

What is this? A book...?

[He stares at it (and the camera) for a moment, sets it down, then gets to work on putting his armor on. Care to talk to the New Feather and get him to pay attention to the journal?]

Apparently it's a journal. I must admit, it's the strangest journal I've ever seen.

It talks? [He picks the journal up and examines it, looking for a source for the voice.] ...Who are you, and do you know how this "journal" works?

My name is Roy, and really I couldn't tell you how it works. I believe it's by some sort of magic.

Greetings, Roy. I meant... do you know how to access the different functions of this journal? Such as turning it on and off, and how to talk to others through it?

Ah, I'm still figuring that out myself. You can write on the pages, and everyone here can read it. There are "buttons" for what I think they call "audio and video".

[Whatever that means. Roy describes these buttons.]

Whatever you write and say here can be seen and heard by everyone. If you shut the book, it will stop.

[Zelgius nods, taking in the instructions.]

I see, I see... I've never even dreamed anything like this. Just one moment.

[He closes the book and turns off the feed. It takes him a good few minutes of finagling around and playing with options before the feed comes back on.]

Hello? Are you there? It seems closing the book really does turn it off, but getting this back on is more difficult than I expected.

[Roy can definitely understand. He'd never dreamed of something like this either. That's how he knew it was real. There's no way his mind could make all of this up.]

I had to find the video button, then find your name in a list... I wasn't quite expecting that. My apologies. I should have introduced myself. I am General Zelgius, commander of the Begnion Central Army.

Not sure if Leanne would recognize the Branded mark or not.

[What.... What was that mark on that man's back? Leanne just goes to blink a few times, trying to figure out the mark. It was beautiful to look at but....]

This strange tome is what they call a journal, my lord?

I am Leanne, the princess of the Heron clan. This tome somehow allows people to speak to each other over long distances. I do not know how it works, my lord.

[No wonder that voice sounded slightly familiar! It's the heron he kidnapped to sing the Galdr of Release... but it doesn't seem that she recognizes him yet, so there's a little relief there. It's also a relief to see someone else from his world here.]

I see... that is convenient. So multiple people can talk through this at a time? A boy's voice came through here not long before yours did.

It is strange magic that causes that to happen. A boy's voice? I see but with this tome it can happen.

[She studies the screen for a moment longer pondering if she should ask about that mark or not...]

Nice tattoo matey. It's a journal, but it's magic, so it acts like a video den den mushi, or a crystal ball, or whatever you have that's similar in your world. If you have something like that.

[Zelgius knows what tattoos are, though they are rare (for example, Nailah has them). Of course, he's not going to acknowledge that he has ANYTHING on his body- he nearly bugged out when he heard Marco mention the "tattoo." Then he spots the video screen on the journal and just stares.]

This "journal" can make people appear? I've never seen anything like this.

So this land is called Luceti... I know of nothing like that in Tellius. Just where have I been taken?

Luceti is a different world. Here, open the book up to the back of the journal and there's a guide in there that should help. [This thing.]

A... different world? I had no idea that the Goddess had the power to send us to other worlds. A guide, you say? I will look through it later. Where do people live here? I mean in terms of location and in terms of housing.

The village has several apartment buildings with a lot of rooms open. The houses are generally saved for people here with whole families from their world.

Everything's free in terms of clothing, food, items, and all that.
